Overview

The overnight body is not asleep. It is at work.

Between roughly 23:00 and 05:00, the body undergoes its most concentrated period of repair. Growth hormone peaks in the first cycles of deep sleep, cellular autophagy accelerates, and connective tissue turnover draws on the amino acid pool available in circulation.

Night Structure was designed around this window — not to disrupt sleep with stimulants, but to quietly ensure the raw materials of renewal are present when the body reaches for them. What follows is the evidence for each component.

Micellar Casein

Why it is included

Micellar casein clots gently in the stomach and releases amino acids over six to eight hours. Human studies show a sustained rise in plasma leucine and a positive net protein balance across the overnight period, compared with faster-digesting proteins consumed before sleep.

02Connective tissue peptides

Hydrolyzed Collagen

Why it is included

Enzymatic hydrolysis breaks collagen into low molecular weight peptides — including hydroxyproline-containing di- and tripeptides — that appear in circulation within an hour of ingestion. Randomised controlled trials in adults describe measurable effects on skin hydration, elasticity, and joint comfort with daily intake of 2.5 to 10 g.

03Collagen synthesis cofactor

Vitamin C

Why it is included

Vitamin C (ascorbate) is a required cofactor for prolyl and lysyl hydroxylase — the enzymes that stabilise the collagen triple helix. Without it, endogenous collagen synthesis is impaired regardless of protein availability. Vitamin C also functions as a first-line aqueous-phase antioxidant during tissue repair.

04Bioavailable silicon

Bamboo Silica

Why it is included

Dietary silicon supports cross-linking in connective tissue matrices. Observational cohorts show positive associations between silicon intake and bone mineral density; small controlled trials suggest a role in skin, hair, and nail resilience. Bamboo extract offers a stable, plant-derived source with a high silicon content.

05Tissue hydration

Sodium Hyaluronate

Why it is included

Sodium hyaluronate is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid — a glycosaminoglycan naturally present in skin and connective tissue. Oral ingestion at low daily doses is associated in randomised trials with modest improvements in skin hydration and joint comfort, particularly in adults over 40.

06Prebiotic fibre

Inulin

Why it is included

Inulin is a fermentable fibre from chicory root. Human studies show selective stimulation of Bifidobacterium and Faecalibacterium populations at daily intakes as low as 5 g, alongside short-chain fatty acid production. A quietly diversified gut microbiome supports the systemic environment in which every other ingredient acts.
